Return to Current Projects
Plans are underway to construct a new reptiles and amphibian building at Calkins Nature Area. This building will improve the living conditions of over 10 turtles, 2 snakes, and a salamander. This will also include a new enclosure for each of the animals, storage for environmental educational supplies, and a bathroom that will be accessible to visitors when the nature center is not open. Currently plans are being drawn up and committees are meeting to decide on this new facility to improve living conditions for the creatures for Nelson Hall. Check back for more information on the upcoming project.
