Hardin County Annual Spring Burning:
Hardin County Conservation plans to conduct prescribed burns on designated areas within Hardin county between April 1 and May 30. The goal of the prescribed burn is to reduce invasive plants species, improve habitat for wildlife, and to maintain and restore native plant communities. The size of the burn areas will vary from a few acres to 80 acres. Areas are typically burned on a 5-year rotation, but some are burned more, or less, frequently depending on the response from habitat. Burns are conducted when the weather conditions meet guidelines and objectives listed in the burn plan.
