Resource Management Responsibilities

The Natural Resource Manager position is responsible for enhancing and restoring our natural areas throughout our county’s woodlands, wetlands, and prairies. We work tirelessly to restore the quality of our parks back to Hardin County’s natural, cultural and historic landscape.

Our work can be seen throughout many of our parks, like the removal of invasive brush and trees in Sac and Fox Overlook to restore this area back to savanna and prairie. Our work is also evident in the Ruby Wildlife Area, as we remove dense young stands of shade tolerant trees to further promote steady oak regeneration throughout what was once an oak dominant woodland.
